A Girl gets Gangraped in a Moving Bus in Capital City Delhi at 9:45 Pm ! ! ! Sad and Shameful !

This news was so shocking, it makes me feel that New Delhi- The Capital City of our Country, after so much modernization also, is simply not the city for the Womankind.... I wonder how these Criminals so freely and confidently attempt such Heinous crimes and move around in Broad Daylight ? What kind of Drugs or Intoxication are they on ? Are they even Human Beings or they are Demons ? How sick is the gratification for these kind of Psychopaths ? I just can't seem to understand !

Details of the Crime

Medical Condition of the Victim : Battling for Life in Safdarjung hospital
Area of Crime : A moving Bus in New Delhi
A 23 year-old medical student, was tortured and gang raped by a group of men in a moving bus on Sunday night. On Monday, Delhi Police arrested driver Ram Singh, 32, and recovered the bus used in the crime. The Victim had boarded a chartered bus with tinted glass windows from Munirka in South Delhi around 9.45 pm to Palam. Both of them were assaulted with an iron rod when the two resisted. They were dumped on the roadside near Mahipalpur flyover. 7 men, including the driver & conductor, told the couple that they were headed to Dwarka. These men misbehaved with the woman and when the girl's friend intervened, he was beaten up. She was then raped in the moving bus by four men. The girl has undergone surgery and is now on Ventilator at the Safdarjung Hospital. Even now her condition is very Critical.

Phew .... ! Even though I have given out these details I feel all this is redundant.... The point is that these criminals are those people who have no fear of the Society, The Police or the Law....

A friend of mine on Facebook wrote : The only way to stop such brutal acts is by amendments in the law so that rape can be treated at par with murder and treated as a rarest of rare crimes, so that there is a provision to award death punishment to the convicts..Only death penalty can instill fear in the minds of such psychopaths..!!!

I totally agree...  I am praying for the Girl that first and Foremost she survives and then gets the strength and courage to deal with what she has gone through .... She needs Strength for not only coping up, but also to ensure that these "Horrible People" get convicted and pay for playing with her life and her Honor....

When you have nothing better to do ....

There are days in Everyone's life when they are immensely 'Vella' and yet quite capable of doing the Lamest things that makes them feel awesome  ;)

How do I know ? Keep reading ...

Anyway, While I was deleting data from one of my old pen drives, I found 2 remarkable pictures that made me reminisce about One such day ... ( In-case you didn't get the sarcasm-I am being Sarcastic here)

In in the year 2010 ....it was a chilly winter afternoon .... but, I was sitting inside my warm office cubicle ...... And, I was checking www.faceinhole.com ( recommended by Gaurav Gera on facebook via a status update) ... Nevertheless, I checked it out and after spending the whole day, I came up with 2 amazingly creative images of mine (sarcasm again...)
Here check em out :

I also posted them on facebook and a lot of people thought they are from some actual Photo-shoot ( Well .... Facebook in my life was at full swing back then, so I gladly accepted the compliments, but now I find it damn Funny ! )

So the Point is ... If you too have nothing better to do in Life... You can go and try out this fun website, where you can become a Superhero, a Diva, a Model, a Musician (sky is the limit) ... All you have to do it put your "Face" in the "Hole" ....

Btw... The office I used to work in during those days, blocked the site coz they thought it's a Porn Website ... ROFL... hahahha....I mean ... They actually thought it was one ....

Love and Light :)

Strategy behind Movie Posters, Showcasing Rowdy Rathode, Ishqzade and Talaash

Bollywood in an ever evolving industry, also the biggest reason why India produces the highest number of films every year. Our Industry is responsible for many people's bread and butter and millions of people dream of making it big or achieving super stardom. The inspiration behind today's Blog are the various and unique kind of Film Posters that are being made these days.

1) These Posters are created and launched months before the movie release and termed as 'First Look' they are responsible for creating a sub-conscious registration in the minds of probable future audience.
2) First Look creates enough buzz and also acts as a strong selling point.
3) Poster also gives a hint about the film and creates curiosity-The after effect is-People constantly keeping in touch to find out more about the film.
4) A unique poster helps creating Virility on Social Media Platform, the more people Share, Rant and Blog, the better it is for the Film.

So, that was my scoop on it. Now let me share 3 posters I recently saw and found impressive.

Last year, I came across the Poster of 'Rowdy Rathode' posted on MovieTracker.in. Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is known for making deep, intense, serious films and BLUE Films ...Lol, he loves to use all possible shades of the color Blue i.e. light blue, dark blue, sky blue etc etc. So, it was hard to believe that a colorful idea like that one came courtesy Sanjay “Neela ooops Leela” Bhansali :D . . . The Poster Deserves an applaud as it was Sanjay himself who wanted to give a rustic look to the Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar starrer. The posters were actually hand painted by the street painters, reminding us of the bygone days of Hindi Cinema. Interesting One-liners like 'Ilaka Tera, Dhamaka Mera' and 'Naya Saal Naya Maal' ... etc have made it more fun. Some people might call it cheesy, but I think it's totally Desi and I loved it. Here's a Dekho at the Poster:
A creatively thought Poster by Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Another Poster that's very different and Catchy is YRF's Ishqzade, starring Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor. The Poster has a Red Background and this one too has a Rustic Feel to it. The poster has a never seen before idea and I totally liked it. Thumbs up to Aditya Chopra who is the head honcho of YRF, he must be given oodles of credit for always coming up with such amazing ideas for all his movies. He not only likes to promote new talent ( after all he gave us SRK who became super big after DDLJ), but also his marketing strategies are very modern and creative. The movie has an amazing storyline and the poster definitely creates a lot of curiosity, making the movie look very promising.
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in Ishqzade
Moving on, we all know Aamir Khan as a ‘Perfectionist’ -someone who is known to put his heart and soul into his films. And, in the past few years, Aamir has not only focused on acting but also ensured that his films are marketed in the best possible way. He always done fewer films yet people wait desperately for his films and instantly fill up the cinema halls once the movies are out. Aamir, is now all set to intensify the intrigue surrounding his upcoming ‘Talaash’ with India’s first-ever digital poster. Although the film is slated to release on 1st June but the film’s official poster was created specifically for an Internet launch to arouse curiosity and both the poster and the first teaser are now out for people to watch.

Tell me which Movie Poster got your attention recently and why and I would put that up too along-with your credit on it :)

Winters Gone .... It's Summer Time :)

I have never been a fan of Winters and have multiple reasons to dislike the Shivery-Quivery season. First and foremost, Winters make me Dull, Lazy, Slow, Sleepy and it's so tough to go anywhere. In fact this year I literally was hibernating like Polar-Bears do and turned completely Anti-Social (that was also because of the crazy amount of work I was doing). The only few times I went out clubbing was when I was in Mumbai.

I know I am sounding like someone who had to live at the North pole, but that's how I feel. I really wonder how people survive in super cold regions, where there is no vegetation and all you see is Thick layers of snow everywhere-where temperature is way below 0 degree. Pray how do people survive out there? One thing I am sure of in life, that I won't go Mountaineering (unless I really decide to turn into a Sanyasi :P) ....
My Winter Blog Picture- Filmy ... Who Me ???? Naaaa .... lol
Being a Delhite has both pros and cons. Delhi is an awesome place to live in with Wide Roads, Metro's(now), Big spacious houses, the best food, clothes etc etc ... But one has to face the extreme atrocities of all the seasons and it's not safe for women, specially NCR. Mumbai one the other hand is safe, Traveling in Autos and Taxi's is considered Kool and no one bothers about which car you drive and how much money your Daddy's got. Mumbai Party Culture is also considered the Best, although I personally feel Delhi Crowd is way Hotter ;)

Nevertheless, To welcome Summers, I removed my Blog Photo (www.Chandramehendrou.blogspot.com) which was shot last year during the Winters and uploaded a New One :) Now, It's time for the Colors, the Spring, some Fun, Energy and Sunlight ..... It's time for chilled Ice-creams, low temp A.C's, sexy clothes and Night Outs, yeah baby, it's Time for Summers :) ( I didn't include Water Parks coz it made me sound like I am still in school and it also wasn't rhyming... Lol) ... Anyway, Make sure you guys have a Blast this summers and also let me know about it @ chandra.mehendrou@gmail.com ... xoxo :)

17th March 2012- The day of Realisation !

I met a young Entrepreneur today (2 years younger than me). What's making me write about this meeting is because I saw a lot of similarities between us .... But, What I have more is Focus and Patience, and what I lack majorly in is Self - Confidence.

So, as a Marketing expert I met this budding new entrepreneur, who needed someone to manage marketing for his company and also make the Brand stand Tall across the Globe-that too without any fee! Telling someone like me to work without Fee isn't an easy thing to do, specially when there wasn't much for me to take home in my kitty (WIIFM kept running in my head). . . That's when I realized that here I am with some great products created by me, in not more than 2 quarters, with a lot of passion, hard-work and not to forget Sacrifice, yet, I possess this crazy need to make all of them more and more wholesome, despite knowing that my products are way better than many products people have wanted me to Market. I just can't seem to talk about them... In today's world blowing your own Trumpet is a key element ....
Between Confusion and Realization there is a Lot of Stress, Restlessness and Sleepless nights, All that is a Good sign.
Quite recently, I did some amazing stuff for the Movie Kahaani- and I went beyond the regular stuff/ template I used to follow. Not just in Entertainment Marketing, but I have some great experience and various fields, yet, I keep wanting to do more and more litmus tests. . . I don’t want to predict if the company I met today would be successful or not (although my predictions and calculations have become crazily accurate, it doesn't make me very proud but I feel it's more like a responsibility to predict stuff without being jealous and making comparisons with my own self.) but it definitely make me realize that it’s time to strike and that too Strike real hard ! Things that really make history, after all are either Technology, Commodity or Philosophy !

My latest Fashion photo-shoot 'Fun vs. Serious'

A big warm Hello to all the earthlings by me- Chandra Mehendrou ! :)

So, two weeks ago I had a fashion Photo-shoot. On the day it had to happen I was feeling lazy and didn't have much details about it, but my friend Rocky asked me to be there by 12... It was a Saturday and I reached Late, that too by 2 hours. I was sure that the team over there must have Packed up and left for home by then, but then God was kind and they were busy with other Models. And, after I said Hello and flashed a an endearing smile (LOL and sorry for the display of self obsession), no one looked angry, rather they directed me to get my Make up done quickly.
So, my hair and make up was readied by a stylist called 'Shaan' and opposite to what I had thought they rejected most of my awesome clothes (I am being a typical girl here, I totally love all my clothes including the ones who have been never been worn by me ever since they were bought from the stores). The Photographer 'Ananvay Pathak' is a simple chap and good with his work.

Thankfully he didn't have a Fake accent which has nowadays become a must have (rage) for people belonging to the Fashion Circle. Another weird antic I noticed is enunciating the regular 'S' sound as 'SH' . . .

The event was covered by GettingAlive.com. After the Photo-shoot got over I also gave some copies of my book 'In the name of Luuuv' (hey if you don't have it, get it on discount asap by Clicking Here.)

I got the Pictures today itself and I loved them, but won't disclose all of them right now and show you my Favorite Picture, It's from the Fun Part of Photo-shoot :)
If you are a Salman Khan Fan then you might like this one ;)

And, here's the 'Behind the Scenes of the Photo-shoot', the theme being 'Fun vs. Serious' only for you to check out ... xoxo

Movie Review of Kahaani by Chandra Mehendrou

****
Kahaani- A fast paced emotional drama !
For a brilliant movie like this one, the four stars are for the 4 assets of the movie that’s going to surpass everybody’s expectations. The four assets are: 1) Vidya Balan 2) Setu‘s Cinematography 3) Story by Sujoy Ghosh and Advaita Kala 4) Sujoy Ghosh‘s Direction of course.
Review of Vidya Balan's Kahaani
Vidya Balan has done it again, she plays the part of Vidya Bagchi with utmost dedication and sincerity. Vidya Bagchi is a 28 years old, pretty, intelligent, urban and seven months pregnant woman who is looking for her missing husband. With great determination she reaches Kolkata from London to find him out. The plot of the story is not as simple as it sounds. The story is unique and in fact one of the biggest pluses of the Flick. We don’t want to give out the complete thing but we can say that Arnab Bagchi is played by Indraneil Sengupta (a Bengali actor) who goes to Kolkata for a software consultancy project with the National Data Centre (NDC). The first two weeks of his visit pass by very smoothly. The couple Arnab and Vidya chat daily and look forward to meet soon, but out of the blue, all communication from Arnab stops and he becomes untraceable. Extremely Worried about her husband’s well being, Vidya arrives in Kolkata who is alone in an unknown city.
Kahaani Gets a 4 Star Review

Vidya begins her search with the festival of ‘Durga Pujo’ in the background. Moving on, Vidya goes to the hotel where her missing husband had stayed, which actually is a down market guesthouse, something that could not have been possible. The manager of the guest house too insists that no Arnab Bagchi had ever stayed over there.  The Baffled Vidya Bagchi still continues to stay in the guesthouse. The next day she goes to NDC’s office but over there too the HR manager tells her that he had not sanctioned any assignment for any Arnab Bagchi. Vidya is completely aghast but she goes to the police station and files a missing person report. The police help her in her search, only to later tell her that both London and Kolkata immigration have no record of anyone by the name of Arnab Bagchi, leaving London or arriving Kolkata. The police  request Vidya to return home to London lonely and clueless. They feel that her husband had left her knowingly but they don’t have the heart to say this to a pregnant lady, who had come all the way looking for her husband.
But Bagchi is adamant to find out the truth and stays back to meet Agnes the HR manager of NDC who tells her that Arnab looked exactly like an ex-employee of NDC called ‘Milan Damji’. That’s when poor Vidya feels completely lost and yet more intrigued to find the truth.  But her problem ceases to increase, as that night Agnes gets murdered and both the police and the Intelligence Bureau interrogate Vidya, as she was the last person Agnes had called.
The IB department becomes unsupportive and difficult. The name and the person Milan Damji who is the only clue to help Vidya find her husband, is not someone they are highly intrigued by.
Vidya is pressured to to return to London immediately. But once again she decides to stay back, against all odds and warnings to continue her search and get an ANSWER…

Btw, Its true that I promoted this film on Social Media Platform, and also met Vidya Balan and also did a personal Interview with her for MovieTracker.in, but that's not the reason why I say that this is an awesome movie to Watch.
Kahaani really is amazing and yet another brilliant performance by Vidya Balan, it's no where close to what you would have thought about the film. Get ready to get your Mind's Blown (that's exactly what Vidya says about this film). Whether Vidya Bagchi would be able to find her husband or not ? To know who is Milan Damji? Why is it that the country’s most powerful department, the IB, gets all worked up by Milan Damji’s information? Who had killed Agnes and why? To get answers to all such questions you need to hit the nearest cinema halls and watch Kahaani and trust me you won’t regret doing so.

The meaning of the word "Sanskar" for New Age Indians

Last Night I went to Shiro- a club next to Lap, Samrat Hotel, Chanakyapuri (after hibernating the whole winter- I am excluding my work trips to Mumbai and some boring brunches and suppers). The plan was to go to Blue Frog, a slightly new place in Delhi, but since majority of the people don't like the music there, we decided to Hit Shiro. My friends told me that we have to first go to someone's house for a Pre-drinking session. So we landed at a Girl's house (warm & over-hospitable) who was drunk way before the party had to start. She hugged and kissed me (thankfully on my cheeks) God knows how many times. For a teetotaler like me, Partying literally is fun sometimes because it's good to watch antics of drunk people without judging them even one percent.

One of the guys in the group had been living in Brazil (Indian) and travels to India every year. He has lived in The States and a few more countries he named couple of times (was actually quite proud of his Travel History and everyone pulled his leg enough ... ha ha ....).

I generally asked him, ‘What’s the one thing that you have learnt from the Indian soil and all your annual stays here?’. . .

After thinking for a few seconds, Pat came his answer, ‘SANSKAR’.
Suddenly, another guy from the group (I don't remember his name, but do remember that he writes for 'Maxim') astonishingly questioned SANSKAR! What subject was that in school?

Everyone laughed at the pun intended ignorance, after which I asked the Brazilian-American-Indian Combo guy ;) what is the meaning of 'Sanskars' according to him and he replied, "Indian culture, ethics, values, things that you can only learn in India. My father specifically made me study here till I was 14, after which I moved out."

I was quite amazed with his answer and felt good that our parents indeed focus a lot teaching us some really important human values. We are religious and conditioned to believe that doing something wrong is punishable by God and no matter how tech savvy or modern we have become we never forget to wish everyone on various festivals via Facebook status, Blackberry messenger, Whatsapp, so on and so forth. In fact, tonight is Mahashivratri and my BBM has 80% updates filled with pictures and messages. Indians have numerous reasons to celebrate various festivals throughout the year, with family and friends.

We live with our parents throughout our Lives and just the way they bring us up with utmost love and care, we pay back by caring for them when they grow old, unlike, how it happens in the West. However, this small conversation (and a few previous ones) made me feel that there has now emerged quite a big population of people who have nothing to do with Family or friends, relationships, culture, values basically 'SANSKARS' . . . It’s not a very selfless group of people, although how they are is not something they are responsible for. I will connect this to another example from last night. The host of the party offered a bottle of chocolate wine to everyone and said that it was gifted to her by her Dad. While they were all drinking and making merry I thought would my parents ever gift me a bottle of wine ... Nope, Never, I don't think that would happen even if it’s everybody's last day on earth . . . But at the same time, even though there are certain do’s and don’ts, they also do give us space and have immense faith and trust in whatever we do. I am quite happy that Middle and Upper-Middle class families follow certain thumb rules while brining up their children (I kinda overheard my mum talking to her friends once).
RULE:

When your children are very young, love them as much as you can, give them the best values and encourage their talents, this is the best time they can be molded into becoming good human beings.

When they become teenagers be extremely strict and teach them discipline. This is the time to be the strictest teachers, ensuring not much space should be given to them. They should be taught how to manage their own stuff and be aware that they would have important responsibilities to take over. Let them hate you for all the strictness you showcase, but in the years to come, they would be more sorted individuals. Parents also need to observe their children as to what direction would be best suited for their careers.

Lastly, become friendly with them when they’ve crossed 19, give them the space they need and talk things out with them. Listen to what they have to say and give your honest opinions and they themselves wouldn’t cross the invisible line

WOW … I simply loved this secret recipe of bringing up children. I am proud of my Mom :)

Coming back to my blog, we still can't watch intense romantic scenes (slight love-making or kissing) comfortably with our family; someone eventually changes the channel or starts talking about general stuff. LOL… I feel that's a very good thing, because it shows that we respect our elders and there is a line that we still haven't crossed.

But, at the same time, I meet and interact regularly with people (of my age) who live alone in major metro cities, make their own money and spend it all on going out, shopping and partying. They aren’t very close to their parents, belonging to nuclear families. Either their parents were too rich and busy socializing or they had parents who were too busy working and preferred to put them into boarding schools or leave them to their Nanny's. Now when they have grown up their own parents have to call them up and take prior permission to stay with them even if its for a day or two.

I will stop this Blog right here and let you do some thinking. Here are some questions that you might want to ponder on:-

What is the kind of Future we would prefer in times to come…?

A well-knit social society high on ethics, morals and culture, or an individualistic society who doesn’t care about things other than MTV Roadies, Designer Clothes, Eating out at various joints, Drinking, Smoking, Doing drugs and Partying hard to unwind?

A Society that dwells independently has no understanding of a close knit family system and specific roles of a nurturer and a bread-earner . . . ? A society that doesn’t understand what bonds, ties and commitment means and wants to leave old parents at shelter homes, willing to pay a monthly fee to get rid of their responsibilities.

Are we responsible for our future? How important are SANSKARS for you. . . Just a similar word to Sanskrit- which was a boring and difficult subject at school (that most of us despised) or something that forms  the foundation of how we would lead our lives in years to come? ? ?

Let me know what you think ! :)
