'Not a Love Story' Movie Review

Director: Ram Gopal Verma
Cast: Mahie Gill,Zakir Hussain, Deepak Dobriyal, Ajay Gehi
Human beings are social beings and happily they survive when they dwell in societies sharing and caring for people around them. But when they live like beasts or even worse, then they shouldn't be given any sympathy. I don't know why Ram Gopal Verma tried to glorify a heinous barbarous act and attempted to spice it up with weird close-up shots, low angles, tight frames and a disturbing storyline served with tons of fake blood and ketchup curry. Based on the gruesome Neeraj Grover murder case, it showcases the escapades of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj and her boyfriend Lieutenant M.L. Jerome Mathew.

This film provides a plethora of reasons to not to like it, as the plot ignores the real story and tries hard to make the murderers appear correct, leaving you with a bad feeling.  Deepak Dhabral has been wrongly casted as you wonder why a good looking girl capable of bagging a lead role in a film, be madly in love with Dhabral’s character ‘Robin’. Mahi Gill’s atrocious dance number ‘Hoja Rangeela rey’ looks shady and is also a failed attempt of bringing oomph factor on the screen. The Song ‘Hoja Rangeela rey’ is played numerous times throughout the movie, getting onto everybody’s nerves. The story is about an aspiring actress Anusha Chawla, who has an obsessive boyfriend living in another town. Initial 1/3rd of the movie visualizes the struggles of an aspiring actress, casting couch and how the protagonist eventually bags a film in spite of the difficulties faced by her. While she is working on making her dream come true, her possessive boyfriend Robin Fernandes keeps calling her, with an omnipresent frustrated look on his face. He definitely meets all expectations of appearing like a psycho killer.  Ashish Bhatnagar played by Ajay Gehi, gives Anusha her first film but he too ends up sleeping with her. The story takes a turn when Robin gives Anusha a surprise visit at 7:30 in the morning. All hells break loose when he sees Ashish Bhatnagar naked in her girlfriend’s apartment and he kills him cold-bloodedly by stabbing him several times.

There are many movies based on murders and crime but ‘Not a love story’ justifies a heinous murder committed in a fit of rage and anger. New age film makers should take ownership of the kind of movies they make as many people watch them and subconsciously absorb the unwanted parts of it. ‘Not a love story’ no where attempts to promote justice and it completely ignores the pain that the Ashish's family has to go through. It doesn’t portray the evil act as an ‘evil act’. But if you would like to watch a confused murder mystery with an incomplete ending, glorifying a heinous crime committed by two psycho lovers, then you surely should watch it.

Horror Movie with a difference? Aagah The Warning

PREVIEW
No matter how scary horror movies are, viewers all over the world look forward to them. Undoubtedly therefore, there is huge market for spine chilling movies cutting across the demographic. However, Karan Razdan’s upcoming horror flick offers more than just Goosebumps and high pulsation. The protagonist of the movie is little Jannat Rahmani who plays the role of Phulwa on Colors Channel. Other important roles are played by award winning actors- Atul Kulkarni, Rituparna Sengupta, Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher.

Karan Razdan says that ‘Aagah-The Warning’ gives viewers an insight on life after death. People should flock the theatres for this film because every human, born to die one day surely, must be made aware about the truths of life. Hence the film not only promises to scare you with the unknown, but also has a lesson to teach. The Movie is based on ‘life after death’, karma and interestingly enough the plot revolves ‘Jihad’. Quite recently Bomb blasts in Mumbai shook the whole nation and Karan Razdan feels sad about the suffering common man had to go though, and maintains that his Movie ‘Aagah- The warning’ will bring a change. In an exclusive interview, two times national award winning veteran actor Atul Kulkarni said, ‘It’s high time that one gets to the root of problem like terrorism.’Aagah- The warning’ questions the very philosophy of ‘Jihad’ on the basis of which terrorists are created.

Satish Kaushik,Jannat rahmani, Rituparna sen, Karan Razdan & Atul Kulkarni

He added that it cautions people who propagate such false philosophies and drive innocent men and women to commit heinous crimes. It’s high time that we approach this problem and apply our brains. According to Atul Kulkarni, ‘Aagah- The warning’ is not just a supernatural thriller but it’s a horror movie with a purpose. On the other hand, Rituparna, the Bengali beauty known for her acting skills said that the movie warns people not to destroy human lives. She describes her role as a bold one with great insights. She feels that her character is portrayed as powerful and dynamic, yet emotional and innocent.

Rituparna Sen addressing the Media at Aagah's Press Conference
The look of her character is rustic & ethnic. She believes it will create curiosity among a very wide audience. After Mittal vs. Mittal, this is her second film with Director Karan Razdan and she appreciates the fact that he gives her meaty roles with good scope to showcase her known acting talent.

THE SATYA OF SATHYA SAI BABA

For as long as 50 years, Sathya Sai Baba had been India's most powerful & renowned holy man. Phrases attached to him were ‘a worker of miracles’, ‘an instrument of the divine’ and ‘a God Man’. His followings crossed Indian borders and even reached Europe, America, Australia, South America and Asia. However, it’s piteous to see that millions of people prayed him (a mortal human being) for so many years, not knowing or even believing that he was nothing but a child molester; a dangerous pedophile and an insanely greedy man. It’s true that money speaks louder than live human beings even if it’s made out of paper. Not only that, but it also gives immense power to selfish people who use it to solely to solve their evil purposes. On 23 May 1940 a short man called Sathya Narayan ‘Raju’ proclaimed himself the ‘the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba’ and named himself Sathya Sai Baba. As time passed by he accumulated substantial influence and prestige within India and that influence included prominent leaders like former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. The guru's followers included governors, chief ministers, assorted politicians, business tycoons, newspaper magnates, jurists, sportsmen, academics & even scientists.

Sathya Sai baba posing for the camera
I fail to understand that how can people be so foolish that they follow someone after watching a few magic tricks. On top of that, innocent and ignorant people believe that such people can also help them secure a place in Heaven. Well, the only thing that can help humans to reach their real home is nothing but living like a true human being. Now that the ‘Baba’ is dead, people can clearly see how much money and gold he had been storing in luxurious abodes and well he could take nothing with him. It’s amusing when his trustees say that "Swami out of love for his devotees had been keeping all this with him, swami also didn't use all this.” If Sathya Sai Baba was equal to god or he was god himself then why did he never help people by giving away his hidden treasures? In fact why did he even store so much treasure if he had pronounced himself God, does god even need all that? Worst was that he used the name of a pious sage Sai baba of Shirdi. Why do people time and again believe that mortal human beings are gods? What do they really know about god? Honestly, we live in a world where there are absolutely no real scientific explanation of our sole existence. Only a few claim to know the answers and such people automatically get detached and lead a simple life doing their true duties.

Sathya Sai Baba’s example should be an eye-opener and everyone should learn to act rational and figure out that only our thoughts and actions make us good or bad. Inhumane activities like war, murder, rape and all kinds of abuse are no where close to goodness. Being good is to love everyone, be kind, be truthful and sincere. And it’s high time to understand that a moral human being doesn’t hurt, abuse, kill, cheat, lie, disrespect, act arrogant or act hypocrite. One doesn’t need to do bizarre charities or go to the temple everyday to chant hymns and prayers. So, let’s not get blinded by disbelief, concocted stories and small little magic tricks.

The lesson is that no matter who we are: influential, powerful, rich or beautiful we all do AGE, FALL SICK and DIE and that’s also the supreme being’s way of telling mortal humans that we have absolutely no control over anything. No matter how much you cling on to your decaying bodies, the money that you lie for, cheat for, kill for and even hurt your loved ones for will remain seated in your Lockers and Banks and there is not even a ZILCH of it that you can carry along with you. You come empty handed and that’s how you go back, the only thing that belongs to you is your soul and your subconscious mind.

Please do watch the Documentary that created ripples all over the world, one of BBC's finest efforts : The Secret Swami- Sai baba

Movie review: Zindagi na milegi Dobara by Chandra Mehendrou

****
You get one life and you must live every moment of it beautifully. We all have fears, issues & emotional stuff to deal with and escapism should never be the way out. To be honest it’s easy to talk about a film that’s not worth watching but difficult to describe a really nice movie because, then instead of ranting about it, you’d rather want everyone to watch it and even want to relish it one more time. We should all face our fears, do what we love to do, follow our heart and cherish loved ones. And that’s the takeaway from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. What a breathtakingly well balanced film it is. Shot in picturesque Spain, the cinematography is great and the movie is based on a plot about 3 guys who are set out to celebrate a bachelor party. They meet at Barcelona and the adventure begins from there. Three friends played by Farhan Akhtar, Hritik Roshan and Abhay Doel, not one made me feel that they didn’t give their best. According to me, cinema should be a reflection of life and it should also serve you with a powerful message, not ignoring the entertainment quotient and ZNMD meets all expectations. Hritik Roshan looks killer in the movie and Farhan Akhtar looked no less. But, Hritik is Hritik and he looked like a Greek god belonging to a heavenly abode. Katrina Kaif’s character was beautifully sketched and she looked sincere. Kalki did complete justice to her character of a nosey over possessive fiancée who is ostensibly insecure. No doubt the best role was played by the Farhan Akhtar, who also flashed his chiseled body and great sense of style. The 3 love stories looked real and fresh and are good enough to make people realize that love & friendship form the base of our lives keeping the happiness quotient go up. The audience enjoyed the male bonding, the brother-hood showcased and laughed throughout the movie that was filled with witty humor and also empathized with the characters who eventually sort out some major issues of their lives while they unravel and face their fears. From the beginning till the end as a viewer I could not find any glitches. Thumbs up to Zoya Akhtar, The movie is a MUST WATCH!

Murder 2, A Dark Clueless Murder Mystery : By Chandra Mehendrou

(By Delhi Cine Goers Association (DCGA) on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:11am)

Murder 2’s plot is based on the good versus the evil, the god and the devil. The story revolves around an insane man, an evil soul, a serial killer who cross dresses and worships the devil. Someone who kills prostitutes as well as innocent women. His only agenda is to spread blood shed and the movie showcases violence and deadly murders all throughout. Lots of fake blood, ketchup and a ponderous soundtrack is served to the audience. On the other hand, the protagonist played by Imran Hashmi refuses to beseech god but helps the orphans by giving money to the church. Even though he is a good soul, he leaves his job as a cop to earn more money by treading on to the wrong paths. He loves to scare the goons of Goa and is feared by all.

To make him look meaner, he is made to wear similar looking leather jackets throughout the film. During his free time he makes out with a super model and bluntly claims to be only having fun with her, he even tells her "Hotel mein khaane ke baad koi baitha rehta hain kya?" The super model played by Jacqueline Fernandez, has no clear reason of why she loves someone who dons the weirdest hairstyle inspired by Aamir khan’s look in Rang de Basanti. Even though his heroic goal is to save an innocent girl, he fails to understand the pain of the heroine, who goes through a lot of suffering when he denies being in love with her. He even let’s her wander in a dark night when she is dressed in a red sexy outfit, is bare feet and drunk.

Prashant Narayanan, who plays the psycho serial killer acted well and he makes you dislike him just the way all villains should be. He is surely someone to watch out for. The leading lady does nothing other than showing most of her skin, kissing and making love to the hero. For those who love scintillating skin show this movie is not a waste of money. Even though the movie is well shot and the cinematography is good but it doesn't make you feel good because it’s too butchery and heavy.

The story has many weak points specially the climax and the aid the villain gets from a powerful eunuch with political connections who leaves everything to save the killer in spite of being aware of his crime. You fail to understand why a super model leaves home on a festive occasion to go for a photo-shoot minus a production unit. It's also sad to see that the eunuchs are portrayed to be a devil worshiping group. The abrupt songs break the pace of the story and the songs don't have a long lasting impact.

Murder 2 is better than Murder 1 because it keeps you engaged till the end but you may not want to recommend it to others or even feel like watching it again. If you are looking for Masti Masala and entertainment then this isn't the movie for you. But if you like to watch dark, heavy and clueless murder mysteries then you will surely enjoy it.

About 'In the name of Luuuv' - Chandra Mehendrou

In the name of Luuuv’ – A book by Chandra Mehendrou

‘In the name of Luuuv’ is the name of the upcoming book written by authoress Ms. Chandra Mehendrou. It’s a compilation of 5 stories inspired by real people’s experience of meeting their ‘Soul-mates’. It’s a not a regular romantic novel where Boy meets the Girl and they live happily ever after. Rather it’s about different people from distinctive cultures, settings and modes of thoughts who have shared their magically profound experiences of how they met their ‘SOUL-MATES’. Almost anybody can relate with the characters and feel connected with them. They may have been heartbroken or may not have achieved the kind of gratification they wanted initially, but never lost their faith & that made them achieve a never ending feeling of contentment & ebullience. All 5 the stories in the book have unexpected twists & the Book is gripping, inspiring and can make anybody create the possibility of meeting their own soul-mates. People do get confused with the spelling which isn’t ‘In the name of Love’ but rather it’s ‘In the name of Luuuv’ . . . The purpose is to add the depth and expression to the way the word ‘Luuuv’ is spelled.

The names of 5 stories are:
1) Thoughts of Maya
2) True Love at First CLICK!
3) Tale of Love and Deceit
4) Together Forever
5) I create Love!

Whether it’s the Old man’s story of how he met his Soul-mate, the gypsy yet conventional Maria’s internet love, the beautiful Queen’s understanding of Deceit, Suzanne’s struggle of learning the true meaning of Life or Siddhi’s undying faith in love. All the stories can transform anybody who relates to them . . . According to the Author Chandra Mehendrou, there is enough of hatred in the world because people are losing their faith in the four letter word called LOVE, so therefore there is dire need for all of us to know about something which is beautiful, inspiring and powerful!

Mandi- Himachal Pradesh

I usually write romantic stuff, poems, notes but this Blog is a Travel Blog . .

Few days ago I traveled to Himachal Pradesh to a place called Mandi and then went to Rivalsar . . . Mandi (old name Mandav Nagar), also known as Sahor (Tibetan: Zahor), is a city and a municipal council in Mandi district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated 145 kilometres (90 mi) north of state capital, Shimla.I recorded some awesome footage to make a documentary and would start working on editing the documentary after a week, however there were some breathtakingly beautiful places that I visited to and now I just can't help sharing those images with you . . .
Center point of the City , Sunken Garden also known as Ghanta Ghar( A shopping complex surrounds the place)

Apart from the scenic beauty and good climate, Mandi is also known for the festivals that are celebrated over there. There is an open town hall where all the people collect and celebrate all the festivals together with a profound feeling of unity and brotherhood. . . During the festive seasons there is high security and many cops can be seen in the valley to ensure that people(especially women) are safe and not even a single case of misbehavior happens.
This view of Mandi Town was taken from a temple situated on the Top of the valley

The Biggest Hydro-electricity project of Asia, Sunder Nagar
Sunder Nagar is famous for its temples and its just 26 km from Mandi , I couldn't get to roam around in Mandi but did manage to get some time to admire this beautiful river and it truly made my day . .. . .

The temple guard !
Luckily i got to celebrate two major festivals 1) Holi and 2) Shivratri and both the times i wished if only our country could be as united as this small beautiful town, life would be be so amazing . . . (Infact not just India but the whole world)

However Smita Patil braved all the criticism with dignified silence. Within a short span of time when the storm of criticism died down Raj Babbar and Smita Patil got married and started living happily.

Raj Babbar was born on 23rd June, 1952 in Agra to Kaushal Kumar and Shobha Rani. The attraction between Hema and Dharmendra almost seemed fated. They fell in love and ran away to Khandala and had a quiet Iyengar wedding . . .

Number 2 : Sunil Dutt and Nargis

Very few Bolly-wood couples can match the grace and elegance that they possessed. The famed love story of Sunil Dutt and Nargis evolved out of a heroic deed which gave a fresh lease of life to Nargis. The two came from very different backgrounds but found them in the film industry by quirk of fate. Nargis and Sunil Dutt first met on the sets of Balraj Sahni's Do Bigha Zameen. During that time Sunil was a student and an aspiring actor while Nargis was already an established star. They got to know each other and developed a friendly relationship. With each passing day they got to know each other better. Sunil found in her a good human being and a woman of rare qualities. Her compassion and understanding touched him very much. And when she took care of his family members, like one would take care of their own, Sunil was moved to the core. Once, without bothering to obtain Sunil's consent Nargis took his ailing sister to the doctor and got her operated. He knew for sure that this person will make a better home for him. Though the seeds of love were sown it never quite blossomed into romance till a daring rescue act. While shooting for Mother India, Nargis was trapped in the midst of lit haystacks while filming a scene. As the flames engulfed her completely, Sunil Dutt who played her rebellious son Birju in the film ran through the fire scooped her and single-handedly rescued her. He was not deterred by the fire which was powerful enough to char him to death. To Nargis, commitment to her savior was far above anything else. The only way she could pay him back, if ever she could, was by acceding to his request. So when Sunil proposed to her she readily accepted to marry him. The much talked about romance of Bollywood finally culminated in marriage on March 11, 1958.

Number 1 : Shahrukh and Gauri Khan

Shahrukh’s personal story can never be complete if one were not to talk about his romance and subsequent marriage with Gauri Chhibber, the daughter of retired Major Ramesh Chhibber, who had been born a vegetarian, was a Hindu Brahmin, and even had a temple within his house. Shahrukh being a Muslim in India where religion plays a key role while deciding the destiny of marital alliances, his marrying Gauri whom he had met in 1984 and eventually married in 1991 was indeed a tough task to accomplish. The relationship between the two had been kept under wraps, and understandably so because Gauri’s parents would not have accepted it. Or, so it seemed for quite some time even while the twosome continued to meet up for six long years. The youngest in a Punjabi joint family with around 15 members, that Gauri would marry someone from her community was a foregone conclusion. As for Shahrukh, he was willing to do anything to get her in his life, and it is said that he had entered Gauri’s household by posing as Abhimanyu during the girl’s birthdayparty. Abhimanyu…. Who? Yes! The character that Shahrukh had just started to play in the television serial Fauji that was being directed by the retired Lieutenant Colonel Raj Kapoor. The serial based on life in the army had made Shahrukh’s character really popular, and people around even said that he looked quite a bit like Dilip Kumar when he attended the birthday party in Gauri’s house that day.

The story of Shahrukh and Gauri’s relationship continued to add a new chapter with every passing day, and not all of them were bliss-laden as is the case with all human relationships. He was tremendously, in fact uncomfortably possessive about his lady love, so much that he would pick up a quarrel with her even if she let her hair down… literally. Finally, Gauri lost her cool and realized that she wanted to get away from the emotional bedlam in 1989. Without informing Shahrukh, she came down to Mumbai with her pals just a day after the former had celebrated her birthday in his room by decorating it the best way he could have and giving her lots of presents. It was when Gauri had left for Mumbai that Cupid shot that one decisive arrow. Shahrukh just had gone to the city of dreams where his love had gone, and he ended up telling everything to his mother who was supportive and open-minded as always. Not only did she give her son Rs 10,000, she also advised him to go to Mumbai and get his love back. Shahrukh went there with his friends, and what followed sounds like a chapter straight out of fictional romantic folklore. In the huge city, he and his friends kept looking for Gauri, and especially around the beaches because of his awareness that she was attracted to them in a big way. On the last day of his stay in Mumbai, since he had run short of financial fuel obviously, a cab guy advised him to go to a place called the Aksa Beach. From there, they ferried across to a place called Gorai and, after searching frantically, managed to track her down when she was standing in the water! Once the duo saw each other, they embraced each other and started crying. That was the defining moment in their relationship, because it was clear to both of them that they need to be with each other all their lives. The problem the couple apprehended was because of Gauri’s set-up that consisted of simple people who were loyal to Indian social norms and did not question the tenets of tradition: which, in this case, implied that having a son-in-law who belonged to a different religion. This was a thought that would have never crossed their minds. But the time when the twosome had to marry had to surface some day or the other, and that did happen in 1991. The couple went ahead and put up a notice for a court marriage which, according to the Indian marital laws, meant that their names were displayed in front of the court in a notice for one long month. Shahrukh and Gauri had to hide the notice from their parents, so they did the most obvious thing. They gave an address and said it was their own. The poor fellow had to suffer the repercussions. The parochial among the Hindus made a group and shouted in front of his house, and so did their Muslim counterpart. During those 30 days, the life of his friend was absolutely miserable, but then both Shahrukh and Gauri did not have a choice because they were really concerned about the latter’s parents. Those 30 days proved to be critical for the young couple. They worked hard towards convincing Gauri’s parents, and eventually managed to make them see their point of view. That they would have a court marriage after the notice period got over was decided upon, and it was on August 26 that this ceremony was finally solemnized in the court. They also got married in keeping with Hindu and Muslim traditions separately. In fact, it was Gauri who insisted that they should have a Muslim wedding too, and the roots of a secular family set-up had been firmly established be them.

That was the time when Shahrukh was making his initial forays in Bollywood, and among his forthcoming films were Deewana and Raju Bangaya Gentleman while he was shooting for Dil Aashna Hai as well.

Post of the day_In the name of Luuuv

(( A beautiful poem, it touched my heart ))
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed
to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder
every time.
You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend. . . .
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose
someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never
been hurt because . . . . every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of
happiness you'll never get back . . . .

Time that was and the Time that will be :)

( Dedication to my upcoming book 'In the name of Luuuv' )

Sometime back there were only few lines ...
A note, papers and thoughts which looked divine

No Plan, No strategy but only Hope and Solitude
My room, The Terrace, Late nite hours and a spaced out attitude

And Now YOU, My Dreams, Stand right in front of me
You look Calm, Composed and You are ready to Flee

And I thank you for staying hidden in me for so long
Giving me company, I really never needed anybody to hold on

U were the fire, The passion that made me go
No situation, No Trouble could ever break my hope

I welcome the grown up You with zillion smiles,
Hold your hand and Show you the upcoming miles

And I know that you will always understand
That the road ahead will always have several plans

All the pain, the worry and the teary oceans
Are gone, making us strong giving us our own notions

That Lovely light of fulfillment is no longer 'unknown'
I will always be with you so you won't ever be alone

Life is short and yet I make many Challenging demands ....
But Like a genie you always say " your wish is my command":)

I look forward to the light, I know You will grow
Get all the love you can, along with the golden glow

The World is yours, Go grab it, Don't let it go
It's your time, Be happy and Smile , Just go with Flow . . . .

Aameen Sumameen ! ! :)

Rebellious Curious Love

Hi guys this is from my book "In the name of Luuuv"

All this while I didn’t believe,
I stood numb, yet I felt a relief
Giving words to my imagination,
Always Looked like a happy destination
Listening to the nature’s theme,
Rainbows made my universe gleam
Letting the sun rise-up and go down ,
Insomniac fireflies Lighting up my town
I know that there is a satisfaction,
And so much fun in simple creations

But, When I look at people in love,
I feel is it good to go berserk?
Strive to see smiles on that one face. .
Not having an Ego or signs of distaste. .
Is it worth getting emotionally absurd?
Being in love is damn crazy I heard . . . .
How can it be right I think?
Isn’t it such a plight I think?
Living with thoughts of someone else,
Trying to fetch water from empty wells

I do not know if it’s all for real
I feel that Love should be pure & surreal
His Recurring thoughts make me feel abandoned
Making me question, “Why Should it even matter?”
How can my thoughts let a stranger in my mind
Giving him attention & spoiling what I designed
Don’t know if he is the “ONE” I feel . . .
If only he suffers from the same Disease?
Wanting to Brush his fingers through my hair
Wanting to Feel my aura around his air
Making me the face he knows he’s got to see
Making me the voice that makes him feel free
Taking me to where his thoughts go untamed
Like invisible gushes of wind unclaimed & untrained

I don’t know the technicalities ,
But I know only the simple realities
It’s true that when you feel blue,
Only the one who is connected to you
Is always there to stand by you ,
To let you know that he cares for you
To let you know that you not alone ,
He can’t hurt you and make you cry
He would not be the one to say goodbye . . . . .

I play no games and value a heart,
I don’t know Sugary talks or act bizarre
But I can let him share my thoughts ,
And let him meet the Fireflies
Let him be my Rainbow’s friend ,
And help him hear the nature’s theme
Show the gleaming sun go up and down,
Insomniac fireflies who Light up my town
Let him hold my face in his palms and
Make him calm when he feels any qualms

But Still , I also pray to God to Let me be ,
If he is not the one then let it be
Won’t give my heart to someone who leaves ,
Asking me to fall in love and later grieve
Coz I can still be happy and not believe,
Stay cold, Numb and yet feel relieved . . . .

Bhagat Singh my favorite freedom Freedom- A True Martyr

Bhagat Singh wrote this Letter to Shaheed Sukhdev on the question of Love & Sacrifice in the life of a revolutionary !

This letter deals with the views of Bhagat Singh on the question of love and sacrifice in the life of a revolutionary. It was written on April 5, 1929 in Sita Ram Bazar House, Delhi. The letter was taken to Lahore by Shri Shiv Verma and handed over to Sukhdev it was recovered from him at the time of his arrest on April 13 and was produced as one of the exhbits in Lahore Conspiracy Case.

After you read this letter you will see that at a very young age Bhagat Singh was ABOVE all human suffering & he was an Old soul. He believed in Self- integrity & taking ownership of our own actions. He was an extra-ordinary human being who possessed great foresight.

During his teenage years he became an atheist as he did not understand how members of these two groups ( Hindu & Muslim's) , initially united in fighting against the British, could be anti each other and forget the real purpose only in name of their religious differences. . .

Before his death he told his father that," I am confident that my death will do more to smash the British Empire than my release". and When he was about to be hanged, He was asked to pray by someone and that person said,"During your last days you will begin to believe" , he informed that person of his atheism and he said, "No, dear Sir, it shall not be. I will think that to be an act of degradation and demoralisation on my part. For selfish motives I am not going to pray."

He was a threat to Gandhi and believed that self- protection comes first , which is right as it's highly foolish to get slapped first and then again offer yourself for one more.... I too feel that most of Gandhi's Ideologies were Highly disrespectful to Self and also lacked self- expression ....

Mohammad Ali Jinnah had also said that the man who goes on hunger strike has a soul. He is moved by that soul, and he believes in the justice of his cause. He is no ordinary criminal, who is guilty of cold blooded, sordid wicked crime."

Bhagat Singh was a great reader & thinker. After a Long hunger strike he was able to break the jail conditions. He maintained a note book of 404 pages and kept notes & quotes from the books he read.

I wrote this note in his memory as I highly admire him & felt that nation specially the youth should re-visit his life and what he achieved , Even though wew are a free nation , however there is a lot that we can learn from Shaheed Bhagat Singh .........

and .....Mentioned below is the letter he wrote :

DEAR BROTHER,
By the time you receive this letter I will be gone, going to a far off destination. Let me assure that I am prepared for the voyage inspite of all the sweet memory and inspite of all the charms of my life here. Upto this day one thing pinched in my heart and it was this that my brother, my own brother, misunderstood and accused me of a very serious charge - the charge of weakness.

Today I am quite satisfied, today more than ever do I feel that was nothing, but a misunderstanding, a wrong calculation. My overfrankness was interpreted as my talkativeness, and my confession as my weakness. And now I feel it was misunderstanding and only is understanding. I am not weak, not weaker than anyone amongest us, brother. With a clear heart I go, will you clear too? It will be very kind of you. But note that you are to take no hasty step, soberly and calmly you are to carry on the work. Don't try to take the chance at the very outset.

You have some duty towards the public, and that you can fulfil by continuing this work. As a suggestion I would say that M.R. Shastri* appeals to me more than ever. Try to bring him in the arena, provided he himself may be willing, clearly knowing the dark future. Let him mix with men and study their psychology. If he will work in the right spirit, he will be the better judge. Arrange as you may deem fit. Now, brother, let us be happy.

By the way, I am say that I cannot help arguing once again my case in the matter under discussion. Again do I emphasise that I am full of ambition and hope and of full charm of life. But I can renounce all at the time of need, and that is the real sacrifice. These things can never be hinderance in the way of man, provided he be a man. You will have the practical proof in the near future. While discussing anybody's character you asked me one thing, whether love ever proved helpful to any man. Yes, I answer that question today. To Mazzini it was. You must have read that after the utter failure and crushing defeat of his first rising he could no bear the misery and haunting ideas of his dead comrades. He would have gone mad or committed suicide but for one letter of a girl he loved. He would as strong as any one, nay stronger than all.

As regards the moral status of love I may say that it in itself is nothing BUT PASSION, not an animal passion but a human one, and very sweet too. Love in itself can never be an animal passion. Love always elevates the character of man. It never lowers him, provided love be love. You can't call these girls - mad people, as we generally see in films - lovers. They always play in the hands of animals passions.

The true love cannot be created. It comes of its own accord, nobody can say when. It is but natural. And I may tell you that a young man and a young girl can love each other, and with the aid of their love they can overcome the passions themselves and can maintain their purity. I may clear one thing here; when I said that love has human weakness, I did not say it for an ordinary human being at this stage, where the people generally are. But that is most idealistic stage when man would overcome all these sentiments, the love, the hatred, and so on.

When man will take reason as the sole basis of his activity. But at present it is not bad, rather good and useful to man. And moreove while rebuking the love. I rebuked the love of one individual for one, and that too in idealistic stage. And even then, man must have the strongest feelings of love which he may not confine to one individual and may make it universal. ......Now I think I have cleared my position. One thing I may tell you to mark; we inspite of all radical ideas that we cherish, have not been able to do away with the overidealistic Arya Samajist conception of morality. We may talk glibly about all the radical things that can possible be conceived, but in practical life we begin to tremble at the very outset. This I will request you do away with. And may I, Without fear at all the misapprehension in my mind, request you do kindly lower the standard of your over-idealism a bit, not to be harsh to those who will live behind and will be the victims of a disease as myself ?

Don't rebuke them and thus add to their woes and miseries. They need your sympathy. May I repeat that you, without bearing any sort of grudge against any particular individual, will sympathise with those who needed the most ? But you cannot realise these things unless and until you yourself fall a victim to this. But, why I am writing all this? I wanted to be frank. I have cleared my heart.
Wish you all success and happy life.

Yours.
Bhagat Singh
