Hell No changes how you see cliched horror movies

Saw this really funny Trailer of the movie 'Hell No'....

After watching the Trailer I was in splits, dunno how the whole movie would be but the makers have picked up some of the most cliched things shown in horror movie that we see. While watching all the horror movies we feel how can one person be so dumb to get into the scariest buildings in the middle of a dark jungle, or watch a tape that makes you die in 7 days or probably go to a petrol pump where there are no lights, infrastructure or even gas.  Frustrating and Funny but not scary ... what say ?

Here's the Sensible Trailer :P

Significance of Twitter / New DM could soon open

Social Media Marketing is definitely big in all parts of the world (wherever Internet has spread it wings). All the tools have a special importance of their own.... However, the ones to shine are Facebook and Twitter.
I too tried Twitter for a few days and here are my Observations :

1. A Celebrity Creates a Profile on Twitter and People start Following him/her...

2. You can now Pester your favorite Celebrity Openly and send all sorts of Reverts and you can be very very very very very sure that you will NEVER EVER get a revert from them- because the communication is always going to be one sided.

3. By the way, for those who are lucky to either get followed by a Celeb or get a revert by an A-Lister (BY CHANCE) should know that there is  always someone else managing their Twitter Account... Especially in India a lot tweets appear on  a Celebrity's Profile when a Movie is about to Release/ Need for Brand Promotion/ Need for Planting News etc.

4. You can now take revenge or praise someone, start a revolution, go against political parties and celebrities, spread word about causes or your businesses, on a daily basis you can also take out all your frustrations or be a critic or a marketeer of any thing and everything under the Sun (quite many people have got success here) ...

5. Celebrities in the West are more open while sharing and they are Judged less by the crowd- but even for them its all about telling people what they feel - no one expects interaction or two way communication :)

The  positive side to it - Twitter is a good tool to get all possible news related to your Area of Interest Right from the Horses Mouth .

The most recent News on Twitter is the option of Direct messaging, according to which users can opt in to receive DM's from anyone, regardless whether that person follows you back or not. Otherwise, two users had to mutually follow each other for Direct Messaging to work. Wow ! So more of Point Number 4. from this blog All the Way :)

Interesting Facts on why do we Play Holi ?

Holi is being celebrated in the Indian Subcontinent even before the time of Rama and Krishna. It's an ancient festival- far more ancient than Diwali, therefore the festival has a lot of importance. And, There are couple of reasons which the "Generation Now" knows ...

First of all - It's fun to smear Colors on every body's faces- make them look like Clowns (including your own self). It's also fun to grove on what the DJ is playing at the Rain Dance party. Secondly, Some people also try Bhang mixed with Thandai and it's super fun to watch them act all wonked out.... Thirdly, Holi is a National Holiday and its always nice to meet friends & family & also get to eat amazingly delicious food.

And, despite knowing that harmful chemicals are present in the various colors used, we don't really care... Simply because if we can live in so much pollution-breath in harmful gases everyday and Survive even after eating all kinds of pesticide Laden food, then Holi also turns out to be the time to test our Immunity :)

However, other than the above mentioned there many more interesting and age old reasons why people play with colors on Holi in different parts of India :

1) Agricultural :

It is the advent of Spring and Flowers are Blooming everywhere. There is a Freshness in the Air, the Weather is Pleasant in most parts of the country making you feel Rejuvenated and Optimistic. The Gloomy, Lazy Winters are gone and here is the time to enjoy the Sunny Pleasant air around.  Being an Agricultural Festival Holi Symbolizes the beginning of a new Season and Hopes of a big Harvest. This is also the Time when we Remember the Rain God- Indra for Blessing our Crops and overall Prosperity.

2) Mythology :

a) Holika Dahan
Many years ago there lived a Demon King called Hiranyakashyap who had the boon of immortality given to him by Lord Brahma. But, the more powerful he became he also became more and more arrogant. He wanted people to pray him and not pray God. But, his own son Prahlad was a devotee of Lord Vishnu. The Demon King tried all that he could to stop Prahlad from praying his enemy Vishnu but the boys Faith only increased. Eventually, sick of his son's ways Hiranyakashyap ordered his sister to sit on a pyre with Prahlad in her Lap. Holika was blessed with a shawl, which would prevent the fire from harming her and would instead only burn Prahlad. The Little boy prayed to Lord Vishnu to save him. Not only did Prahlad was saved but Holika instead was burnt to death. Since that time, the burning of Holika is an important part of Holi celebrations, signifying the victory of Good over Evil.

b) Sacrifice of Kamdev
After Lord Shiva got to know of Goddess Sati’s Immolation, he renounced all worldly duties and went into a deep meditation. The world’s balance started to crumble in his absence and Sati took rebirth as Goddess Parvati. She tired to win Lord Shiva’s Heart and wake him up from his trance however, Goddess Parvati failed in her endeavors. Then she requested Kamadev- the God of Love, to help her. Disturbed by Kamadev’s Love arrow, Lord Shiva opened his 3rd Eye that fired anger and Kamadev was reduced to ashes. It is said that it was the Day of HOLI when Kamdev had sacrificed himself for the good of all beings. Later, when Lord Shiva realized his mistake, he granted Kamadev immortality in an invisible form. This Legend also gave birth to the custom of offering sandalwood paste to Kamadev on Holi, to assuage the stinging burns.
c)  Fable of Ogress Dhundhi
Dhundhi an Ogress consumed innocent children in the kingdom of Prithu. She had a boon from Lord Shiva that she would not be killed by Gods or Men, nor suffer from Arms or from Heat, Cold or Rain. Though these boons made her invincible but her weak point was a curse by Lord Shiva- that she would be in danger from Boys going Rowdy and Crazy. Ultimately, it was the Pranks by Children on Holi that chased her away. This is also why Rowdy behavior like throwing Water and smearing colors by kids is considered acceptable in many parts of the country on Holi.
d) Story of Radha & Krishna
In Vrindavan and Mathura, Holi is celebrated for 16 days in the memory of the divine love of Radha and Krishna. It's believed when Lord Shri Krishna was young, he often complained to Mother Yashoda about his dark complexion and wondered why Radha was so fair. One day, his mother playfully suggested that he can smear color on Radha’s face and change her complexion to any color he wanted. Fascinated by the idea, Krishna smeared Radha’s face with colors introducing the colorful festival of Holi. Owing to this history, the festival of Holi, even today retains its flavor of naughtiness: smearing your loved one with bright colors and playing pranks on each other. Youngsters also engage in singing and dancing which is reminiscent of Shri Krishna’s Raas-leela with Radha and the gopis, during his time.playing Holi on the banks of the river Yamuna with Radha and other Gopis. The celebrations officially usher in spring, the celebrated season of love.

Thumbs Up for "A Perfect World"

Saw 3 movies today - In case you don't know, Just like people eat food, I have to watch at least One movie in a Day .... I missed watching on films in the last two days coz I was Traveling... I also missed Out on working on my upcoming Novel - A supernatural Romance (Don't wana get carried away right now and talk about it ) ...
So, Coming back to my daily dosage of movies, I saw :
1) Robert Di Nero's A Bronx Tale
2) Kumar and Harold go to White Castle
3) A Perfect World ( Directed by Clint Eastwood, Written by: John Lee Hancock, Actor : Kevin Costner)

Saw A Bronx Tale which Despite being a Robert Di Nero movie, wasn't fast paced, but I give it full points for showing the intense Father-Son Love in the Movie... The New Agneepath (starring Hrithik & Sanjay Dutt)Copied the Part when the Little boy(Robert Di Nero's Son in the Movie) despite seeing the Cool Mafia guy-Sunny who kills a neighborhood fella, refuses to recognize him as The Murderer in front of the Cops, which makes him befriend Sunny- who the kid was always in awe of... It was funny, cz as an Indian Film watcher I was expecting the Protagonist to grow up into a Big Badass Mafia Guy because of his friendship with Sunny ... But I am glad that didn't happen ... Moving on, I have seen Kumar and Harold... but, the movie is actually Funny at a lot of places ... So Totally Worth a Repeat Watch However, It was A PERFECT WORLD that turned out to be an amazing Movie ... As a Writer & Film-Maker, this is the kinda stuff that I get inspired with ... What a story ! Two Thumbs up !

Kevin Costner was so Good...Full Points to Clint Eastwood too... Towards the end when Kevin Costner is about to die and little boy hugs him and cries was when I got so very emotional... The roller coaster Ride on the Car's Roof, the Boy stealing the Casper Uniform, Getting to do Trick or Treat .... and the whole chemistry being the little boy and a convict who had kept him hostage was so beautiful ...

It's hard to write down all the high points of the Movie cz there are so many of them .... Nevertheless, Thanks to the Movie, I am all energized and will probably watch one more Flick before taking some rest ...
Yawn :)

The whole of our life is all about Letting Go ~ Life of Pi

Saw Life of Pi ...

After the Movie ended I heaved a long Sigh ...  And, stayed quiet for sometime ....

I won't sing praises for the film, it ain't really required .... All I will say is that a lot of film-makers in India should learn something from these kind of Films .... Learn about Originality, Honesty and Creating something that evokes human emotions that are so very Real .... The work should be so good that it should make the viewers feel exactly what the protagonists feel while the story proceeds....

I was extremely hurt when Richard Parker simply walks into the wood putting no closure to the friendship between him and Suraj ... I felt like I was the person being left alone, though I survived.... though I experienced what no one ever will... but yet grieving for being left alone to continue my life's Journey ....

Animals too have a soul .... It's so true .... This was the thought that made me turn towards Vegetarianism ..... And, After watching Life of Pi it looks the best thing I ever did ...

A big thanks to Ang Lee for making this Movie .... While I am writing this Blog, I am still in Awe of the emotions that were showcased in the extraordinarily brilliant 'LIFE OF PI'   ...
