Social Media Marketing is definitely big in all parts of the world (wherever Internet has spread it wings). All the tools have a special importance of their own.... However, the ones to shine are Facebook and Twitter.
I too tried Twitter for a few days and here are my Observations :
1. A Celebrity Creates a Profile on Twitter and People start Following him/her...
2. You can now Pester your favorite Celebrity Openly and send all sorts of Reverts and you can be very very very very very sure that you will NEVER EVER get a revert from them- because the communication is always going to be one sided.
3. By the way, for those who are lucky to either get followed by a Celeb or get a revert by an A-Lister (BY CHANCE) should know that there is always someone else managing their Twitter Account... Especially in India a lot tweets appear on a Celebrity's Profile when a Movie is about to Release/ Need for Brand Promotion/ Need for Planting News etc.
4. You can now take revenge or praise someone, start a revolution, go against political parties and celebrities, spread word about causes or your businesses, on a daily basis you can also take out all your frustrations or be a critic or a marketeer of any thing and everything under the Sun (quite many people have got success here) ...
5. Celebrities in the West are more open while sharing and they are Judged less by the crowd- but even for them its all about telling people what they feel - no one expects interaction or two way communication :)
The positive side to it - Twitter is a good tool to get all possible news related to your Area of Interest Right from the Horses Mouth .
The most recent News on Twitter is the option of Direct messaging, according to which users can opt in to receive DM's from anyone, regardless whether that person follows you back or not. Otherwise, two users had to mutually follow each other for Direct Messaging to work. Wow ! So more of Point Number 4. from this blog All the Way :)
